"Voices of Havana" is a set of documentaries produced through the Havana History and Heritage Society. Each film depicts the lively stories that bring the charming town and former tobacco growing epicenter to life.
One film focuses on the lives of Havana citizens and soldiers that fought and lived during World War II. The second film showcases how the Home Demonstration Program of the early 1900s was implemented in the domestic lives of many women from Havana. Viewers will hear first-hand accounts and watch interviews from relatives, experts and neighbors of this bygone time period. Each documentary is comprised of interviews, narration, and historical images that chronicle the town's rich past.
While the films vary in their content, they each share a common birthplace in the Big Bend.
